Admissions/Advanced Academics Testing

Description

We provide cognitive assessment for admissions into independent school, gifted and talented programs and advanced academics placement.

  1. RECOGNIZE: A psychologist works with your child individually and we do not use any graduate students.  This helps us observe how your child is doing and not just report how they did.  This is important to private school admissions directors. Admissions directors want to understand the child or adolescent's personality and learning style, as well as his cognitive performance. The process is as important as the numbers.

  2. UNDERSTAND: We provide the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Tests of Intelligence – Third Edition (WPPSI-III) and coming in Fall 2012, the WPPSI-IV for children under the age of six and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) and Stanford Binet Scales of Intelligence  - Version Five (SB5) for children over age 6.  We also administer the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Adults –Fourth Edition for any student above age 16 which is helpful for accommodations for standardized testing and college accommodations.

  3. SUPPORT: We think it is important to administer the tests, interpret the results AND provide a feedback for families about what the numbers mean.
